Sexual orientation can be understood from various perspectives. Biologists determined that sexual orientation is genetic, while the psychologists associate it with the mental process and past childhood experiences. Sociologists suggest heterosexual and homosexual conduct is a learned behavior and is the process by which individuals come to identify themselves as gay, lesbian, bisexual, or straight. There are many different perspectives on sexual orientation and these three extremely effect society today.

According to the biologists view, gay men and lesbians cannot be blamed for their sexual orientation because both, homosexuality and heterosexuality is an ascribed characteristic at birth and cannot be changed through counseling or therapy. While, psychologists first thought that homosexuality was an illness due to a person\'s history and or other psychological problems. Today, many psychologists believe that biological and psychological factors interact in the formation of sexual orientation. What about the sociologists perspective?

The sociologist perspective on sexual orientation takes a different approach than that of the biologists and psychologists. They include societies problems which include: prejudices, discrimination, religion, laws, and etc. These types of problems can influence a person for life when it comes to their sexual orientation. Sociologists believe certain influences throughout one\'s life can determine their sexual orientation.

The difference between these three perspectives is that they look at sexual orientation from different standpoints. The biologists get really technical with the genetics. The psychologists focus on the mental issues of a persons past. The sociologists look at it in the best way because it has a good base. Society influences everything in a person\'s life and as we noticed today, it definitely influences their sexual orientation.

Therefore, the sociologist perspective is the most accurate due to the recent studies and just common sense. Do you really think your born homosexual?
