George Milton: A migrant worker who travels from farm to farm for work during the Depression, George cares for Lennie, his childhood friend who is mentally disabled, while the two dream of earning enough money to buy a small farm where Lennie can tend rabbits. By virtue of his mental superiority, George assumes a dominant role with Lennie, acting as would an overtired and overworked parent. Because Lennie tends to involve George in difficult predicaments, George must be responsible, levelheaded and ready to deal with any tragedy that may arise. Despite the many problems that Lennie causes George, he stays with his simple-minded friend as a buffet against loneliness and he retains a palpable hope that the two will eventually leave the aimless life of a migrant worker to live a more normal existence.
A man by the name of George Milton was taken into custody today in the suspected murder of Lennie Small. Small a mentally challenged worker accused of rape and murder was on the run from Curley. George , a small man with restless eyes and sharp features claimed to by Lennies friend. Lennie was found with a gunshot wound in the back of his head with George being the last person to see him alive. After the gun was retrieved from a nearby lake, Georgess fingerprints were found on the gun.
After interviewing other workers on the ranch who worked along with George and Lennie, authorities ascertained that the two were once friends. There seems to be no motive for the murder at this time. All that George would say was that Lennie was a good person that loved rabbits. It appears that the pair was traveling together and working for a long time. As far as anyone knows George Milton was a very good person to lennie and is listed as missing.

Once upon a time back when I worked with my partner, Lennie we were talking about rabbits. I told Lennie we will save enough money to get out own land someday. Lennie loves rabbits, so I told him he could tend to the rabbits on our land.
Lennie always gets into trouble because he is so stupid and I have to look out for him every minute. We had to quit our old jobs because Lennie harassed a girl in Weed. I always get him out of trouble. I promised Lennie if he stayed out of trouble I would get him a puppy. As for me, I just want my own piece of Land. I am tired of working for other people. I want other people to work for me.
I am not a bad man, but I wouldnt say that I am a good man either. I just want some peace and quiet in my life and some time to myself. I like to play cards and I can usually find some guys to play cards with on the jobs I work on. I might also like to find a nice woman to settle down with someday. I cant seem to get ahead in the world and it makes me furious.
Dear ,George I am going to tell you what I like and dislike about you. What I like about you is that you are the smart one and you always seem to know what to do most of the time. I like how you take care of Lennie and how he gets him out of trouble. I also like how you tell Lennie stories about how they are going to get their own place. Your stories make me feel like I was really there working with you. I like that you dont pick fights with
