Kobe Bryant

"Kobe Bryant is one of the best all around players in the NBA", exclaimed Michael Jordan at the 2002/2003 all star game. Kobe Bryant plays in the NBA for the LA Lakers. Kobe is the star player of his team, he led the team to win three consecutive titles with LA. Kobe Bryant is one of the most recognized players in the NBA because of his great skills, he also has a great history behind his name, like when he was growing up, his accomplishments, and his marvellous stats.

Kobe Bryant was a very talented Basketball player at a young age. He was born August 23, 1978 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was also named after a type of steak (Kobe). Kobe Bryant grew up with his two older sisters Sharia, and Shaya. Kobe and his family spent eight years in Italy as a child, were he got good at playing soccer. Later he and his family moved back to the USA in 1990. This was because Kobe needed to go to an American High School, so he could get a Basketball scholarship to a good Collage. After he graduated from High School in 1996 he was picked as a 13th round draft pick for the Charlotte Town Hornets. This was so amazing because no ether Basketball player had ever maid the jump from High School to the NBA. Later that season his rights got traded to the LA Lakers before he even got to play a game for the Hornets. These are some of the events that happened in Kobe Bryant’s childhood.

Kobe Bryant has achieved many goals in his career. Hefirst broke the records in 1997 when he was 18 years, 2 months and 11 days old at the time. Kobe Bryant became the youngest player to start in a NBA game, he also broke the record for the youngest all star player. His astonishing performance won the Nestle Crunch Slam Dunk Competition in 1997. In Kobe’s first game he scored an amazing 12 points, later on in the season against the Dallas Mavericks he scored his rookie high of 26 points. After he played his rookie season, and two more he won three consecutive titles with the LA Lakers in 2000, 2001, and 2002. In the 2002 all star game after Kobe Bryant scored 31 points, 5 assists, and 5 rebounds, he took home the NBA all star MVP award. These are just some of Kobe Bryant’s great accomplishments.

In the 2002/2003 season Kobe Bryant astonished every one breaking almost all of his personal records. Kobe Bryant played 82 games this season with over 3401 minutes. He scored 2461 points in the regular season averaging an outstanding 30.00 points per game. Out of those points he made 124 three pointers, 864 field goals, and 601 free throw’s. One of his best personal records is his 83.1% free throw parentage.

Kobe Bryant is well known around the world with incredible performances on and off the floor. He also has a very captivating childhood. In the 2002/2003 season Kobe Bryant astonished every one of his individual records being broken.
